Digital Studio

VUTEk 5300For 100 years, the Schell Scenic Studio has been a pioneer in the theatrical industry. Now, in the 21st century, we have advanced into the world of graphic design with our digital studio. We own one of the worlds largest digital printers, so we may now offer our customers custom printed, large scale artwork.

Our services include:

  • Custom backdrops and borders
  • In-house design work (or bring your own art!)
  • High-resolution still photography
  • Roundtable collaboration with our designers
  • Large scale printing on canvas or vinyl
  • Custom finishing, such as grommets, tie lines, pockets, etc.

Our technology consists of:

  • VUTEk 5300 wide format printer (solvent based ink)
  • HP DesignJet 5500 PostScript color plotter (UV based ink)
  • High-end graphic workstations equipped with Intel Pentium 4 and Xeon Processors and SCSI RAID configurations
  • Latest graphic design applications (Photoshop, Bryce, Illustrator, In Design, Painter, and Colorburst)
  • 4x5 Camera with a 36 MegaPixel (5000 x 7200 pixel) Phase One digital back; capable of creating a 103 MB TIFF
  • We accept images in uncompressed format, such as (.tif, .psd, or .eps).
